Routing Rules
Routing rules control where all product items are sent on their journey through the preparation journey, from the entry point to the exit point and each stage between. Items are routed to stations and can be routed on any number of steps until they reach the exit point. Single station routing will send the item from one station to another. Multiple station routing will send the item to 2 or more stations and be recombined as a single item at a given station. This gives viability of items at different stations who might be preparing components parts of the item.
When using multiple item routing the same product name will appear at all stations and it is the operator's responsibility to know what part of the item they are preparing
Option | Description / Usage |
Order | Arrows to re-order the routing rules - when new orders enter or move around the system it works down the list from order 1, when it finds a match it will perform that routing rule and stop |
From Station | Drop down to define the "from" station where the rule will start from |
Filter |
Drop down to define one or more filters that will apply to the rule
|
To Station | Drop down to define the "to" station where the rule will send the product items to - one or more To Stations can be defined, if more than 1 has been specified the "Recombine" station drop down will become active |
Recombine Station | Drop down to define where any orders have been sent to multiple stations the station that will recombine the order into one |
When items have been sent to 2 or more stations each operator of that station needs to individually bump the item
If you are operating with an order stage of "Waiting to Start" the first operator to bump the item will make it active for all stations, each station will then be required to bump the item to move to the next station

You can have as many routing rules as required for you operation to move the product items around the kitchen
When product items reach the last station the final routing rule that must be created is to go from that station to the To Station of "Exit Point" so that the items will be shown as delivered on any Channel views
Routing rules can also have an "Exit Point" during any part of the routing journey
For example if you had a station that prepared and served items like a coffee station after bumping the item from the "Coffee Station" they could go straight to the "Exit Point" station
